Although I have a passion for software and engineering in general, many of these projects showcase some of my other interests including volunteer work, gardening, reading, and photography.
Junimo Journal
One of my favorite video games of all time is Stardew Valley, an enormous game with dozens of systems masquerading as a simple cozy farming simulator. Junimo Journal is a Daily Task Manager for players from beginner to advanced to use to manage their farm, quests, and progress.
Virginia House Appropriations Committee
After the successful refresh of the Virginia General Assembly, my design partner Matt Stay and I were selected to breathe new life into another Virginia government institution: The House Appropriations Committee. Focusing on a bright, modern design and relying on a heavily API-driven content system to keep information up to date, we launched their brand new digital experience in January 2026.
Virginia General Assembly
The Virginia General Assembly is the oldest continuously operating legislative body in the western hemisphere, since 1619. Along with my designer partner Matt Stay, we were given the opportunity to completely refresh their 30 year old web presence with a modern, responsive, and accessible website built on WordPress 6.8.
The Muse Legacy Foundation
I reached out to Alisha Pope, the founder of registered 501(c)(3) The Muse Legacy Foundation, to offer a pro-bono upgrade for their existing website. Their new site is a custom WordPress theme that allows them to create and manage their own content, receive collaboration opportunities, and accept online donations.
Safe Harbor 25th Anniversary
I have been on the Board of Directors for Safe Harbor since 2022 and have been involved with the organization as a fundraiser since 2017. In 2025 we celebrated our 25th anniversary and I created a microsite using Next.js and Vercel for the occasion.
RVA Taco Festival
I am the founder and principal organizer of the RVA Taco Festival which is a benefit for Safe Harbor, a local non-profit for which I serve on the Board of Directors.
Garden
I’ve been gardening at home for many years, starting with hot peppers in containers on my old apartment balcony to now a full backyard with multiple types of vegetables and flowers.
Safe Bars RVA
Safe Bars RVA is a program of Safe Harbor which trains service industry staff to recognize and respond to sexual harassment, aggression, and violence. They offer trainings free of charge to restaurants and bars in the Richmond, VA area. I volunteered to build them a small website with a custom Ruby on Rails CMS.
